His previous books include Beneath the Mountains, about the exploration of the deepest cave ever discovered by a British team, the Ario system in Spain.Ed Douglas has been a climber for forty years and has made first ascents in the Himalaya. He is the current editor of the Alpine Journal and won the Boardman Tasker Award for mountain literature in 2010.
