Dr. Kidner is the founder and CEO of LEAP Leadership, LLC, a company that provides education and mentorship to nurses in order to strengthen their professional identity and leadership skills. She has 33 years of clinical experience as a nurse, 19 of these years as a nurse practitioner (NP). Her clinical work includes the initiation of the NP role in remote critical care access, where she launched the opening of a hospital facility’s Emergency Room (ER).  Recognizing the importance of ER and trauma training, Dr, Kidner was the first NP to take an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course in Wyoming, USA. She was soon part of the training team. She went on to a position as an NP in a cardiology specialty practice in a hospital, again the first NP in this position. Following completion of her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP), Dr Kidner lobbied for title protection for NPs in her state. In addition, she has been an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in a leadership role since 2008. As an NP leader she has worked on legislative, policy, and community education for promotion of the NP role. Dr. Kidner speaks locally, nationally and internationally on diverse nursing topics from her clinical experiences in labor and delivery, ER, cardiology in addition to her expertise on nursing leadership and empowerment. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, she has taught nursing in Guyana, Vietnam, Rwanda and the USA at Duke University.
