The Oxford Handbook of Neuronal Protein Synthesis

Paru le : 2021-04-15

Translational control in the nervous system is important. Many physiological processes in the nervous system depend on accurate control of the proteome that is mediated through protein synthetic mechanisms and thus, the nervous system is very sensitive to dysregulation of translational control. The ...

He did post-doctoral work with Dr. Schwartz at Columbia Univeristy in the Center for Neurobiology and Behavior before being appointed Assistant Professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University in 1993 where he is now a James McGill Professor. He has been an EJLB Scholar, CIHR investigator and FRSQ Checheur Nationaux. Dr. Sossin has published over 125 papers on the molecular and cellular processes underlying memory formation and maintenance with a particular interest in the role of persistent protein kinases and the regulation of local translation in this process.
