Delan Devakumar is a Clinical Associate Professor in Child and Adolescent Health at the Institute for Global Health in University College London. With a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, he worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres as a paediatrician in Pakistan in 2006 (Kashmir earthquake), in South Sudan (cholera outbreak) in 2007 and Myanmar (post-cyclone Nargis) in 2008. He also has a master degree in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a PhD from UCL. He is a commissioner and steering group member of the UCL-Lancet Commission on Migration and Health. Jennifer Hall, Principal Clinical Researcher at the Institute for Women's Health in University College London, is a public health doctor with a PhD in Maternal Health and Epidemiology and a long-standing interest in reproductive and women's health. A mixed-methods researcher, she works with quantitative, qualitative and psychometric methodologies. She has worked with clinical public health nationally and internationally. She is particularly interested in the measurement of pregnancy intention, preconception care and the detection and management of unplanned pregnancies. Her work aims to improve health and social outcomes for women of reproductive age around the world. Zeshan Qureshi is an academic and clinical paediatrician, with a special interest in global health and medical education. Since graduating from the University of Southampton in 2009, he has published and presented research in the fields of pharmacology, global health, and medical education. He is also the chief editor of the Unofficial Guide to Medicine series. Joy Lawn has worked at the WHO Collaborating Center, CDC Atlanta, USA, and the Institute of Child Health, London. She has a Masters of Public Health from Emory University, Atlanta, and a PhD in perinatal epidemiology at University College London, UK. She has been Director Global Evidence and Policy for Gates Foundation funded Saving Newborn Lives (SNL) programme of Save the Children for ten years. She has also published over 200 peer reviewed papers, as well as a range of chapters, books and policy relevant reports. She co-led several Lancet series on newborn survival and stillbirths.
