Muhammed Jabir is a Social Scientist (Scientist-B) in the Department of Epidemiology and Operational Research at the Indian Council of Medical Research - Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry. He holds a PhD in social work from the Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi. Before joining ICMR, he was teaching at the Madras School of Social Work in Chennai. His research primarily focuses on exploring the social and behavioural determinants of health, with a particular interest in how community engagement and social science approaches can play an essential role in preventing and controlling vector-borne diseases.   Anoop C. Choolayil is a Social Scientist (Scientist-B) at the Vector Control Research Centre of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR-VCRC), Pondicherry, India. He holds a PhD in Social Work from the Central University of Kerala and postgraduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology. As a dedicated public health professional trained in health social work, he works towards advancing health equity through targeted interventions among communities endemic to Neglected Tropical Diseases, particularly Vector-borne Diseases. He is actively implementing multiple research projects that work towards improving the health prospects of marginalised communities. His research interests include health equity, health policy, human rights, and gerontology.
