Tien Van Nguyen is a full Professor of Finance and Banking at Banking Academy of Vietnam. He is also a Member of Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC). He did his Bachelor and PhD degrees at the Economic University of Slovakia. Before joining Banking Academy of Vietnam, he served as Director of the General Affairs and Economic Analysis Department at the Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) from 1994 until 1998. Since 1999, he has been the Dean of Faculty of International Money and Banking and Dean of Faculty of International Business at Banking Academy of Vietnam.
He is an active researcher in finance and banking. He has published critically acclaimed textbooks, including: Modern International Finance; The Money, Banking and Financial Markets; Commercial Banking Management; International Payments and Trade Finance; and The Foreign Exchange Markets.
He has received several large research grants funded by the Vietnamese government and has supervised several PhD students to completion in the areas of banking, finance and international trade. He is a sought-after speaker workshop facilitator using design thinking and has worked with many commercial banks and import-export companies in high priority projects
