Dr. Aizhong Lu is a full professor at North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), China. His research interests are mainly focused on analytical methods in geoengineering. He studied Mine Construction at Shandong University of Science and Technology (B.Eng., 1978-1982) and obtained his Ph.D. in Mine Engineering Mechanics at Northeastern University, China, in 1993. He has previously worked at Shandong University of Science and Technology as a professor and dean of College of Civil Engineering and Architecture for years. He presides over five research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 100 scientific papers as the first author or corresponding author and authored 4 books and a number of book chapters as the main author.Dr. Huaning Wang is a full professor at the School of Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics, Tongji University, China. She is engaged in the teaching and research of engineering mechanics. Her research interest lies in analytical approaches for tunnel/wellbore stability in rheological and elastoplastic rock/methane hydrate-bearing sediments and the application of DEM in geoengineering. She presides over four research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and is also involved in the National Key R&D Program of China, the key program of the NSFC and the research and innovation staff exchanges of the EU as a key researcher. She published approximately 120 journal papers and peer-reviewed conference papers.Dr. Luqing Zhang is a full professor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. His main research interests include rock mechanics in underground projects, mechanisms and mitigation of geological hazards, geoengineering and geomechanics in unconventional energy reservoirs. He presides over four research projects supported by the National NaturalScience Foundation of China, and participates in the National Key R&D Program of China, the Second Comprehensive Scientific Expedition to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has published more than 100 papers in many peer-reviewed journals as the first author or coauthor, authored 8 books and book chapters as the main author, and achieved more than 20 Chinese national invention patents.
