For several years, he has served as Chair and Subject Matter Expert on Sports Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine for the American Academy of Family Physician national conferences and annual FMX conference. Dr. Patel is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Currently, he is also the team physician for Plano and Plainfield South High Schools. Throughout his career, he has served as team physician for high schools, Division-I Universities, and Semi-Professional sports teams.
