Dr. Yin-Hui Leong is a senior lecturer at the National Poison Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. Her areas of specialization include public health, food analysis, food toxicology, and mycology. Dr. Leong has made substantial contributions to the scientific community in the study of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs, mycotoxins, and other toxins. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals, as well as several chapters in various books. As an expert and representative from Malaysia in the TobLabNet (Tobacco Laboratory Network) of the World Health Organization, Dr. Leong is currently conducting research on tobacco and electronic cigarettes, funded by both the World Health Organization and the Malaysian Ministry of Health. Ts. Ahmad Shalihin Mohd Samin completed his BSc and MSc in Toxicology from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Recently, he also completed his PhD in Toxicology. He has been recognized as a professional technologist in chemical technology by the Malaysian Board of Technology (MBOT) since 2019. He is a principal researcher at the National Poison Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. Currently, Ts. Shalihin is involved in a toxicological study on environmental health, focusing on the chemical carcinogen dioxins and their impact on Malaysian firefighters. In addition to his work on dioxins, he serves as the Principal Investigator for research on the availability of vape products in Malaysian retail. This project is funded by the World Health Organization, Western Pacific Region (WHO WPRO).
