Regine Maritz is an early modern historian interested in the cultural histories of gender, the body (politic), and violence. She studied at the Queen's University Belfast for a B.A. in Modern History and International Studies, before moving to the University of Cambridge where she completed her graduate studies as well as a Ph.D. in Early Modern History. She has been the Robert Owen Bishop Fellow of Christ's College in Cambridge, and has held research fellowships at the Sorbonne-Université and the German Historical Institute in Paris, as well as at the University of Bern. She currently works in research management at the Swiss National Science Foundation.
