Jorge Marques is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture of the Portucalense University in Porto, Portugal. He is also a researcher at REMIT - Research in Economics, Management, and Information Technologies (Portucalense University) and the CEGOT - Centre of Studies on Geography and Spatial Planning (University of Coimbra). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management and a PhD in Tourism, Leisure and Culture, specializing in Tourism and Development. His current research interests cover several areas related to tourism and hospitality, such as development policies, destination management and planning, business tourism, industrial tourism, hospitality management, digital transformation, education and training, risks and climate change. Makhabbat Ramazanova is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture at Portucalense University, Portugal, and a member of the REMIT Research Unit (Research on Economics, Management, and Information Technologies). She holds a PhD in Tourism from Spain and an MSc in Sustainable Development from Ireland. Her research focuses on critical aspects of sustainable tourism, exploring the interplay between tourism and water, the preservation of cultural heritage through tourism, ecotourism, gastronomy tourism, as well as destination management and planning. She is involved in several educational and research management projects in these areas, within a range of global contexts, notably in Central Asia, Europe, South Asia, and Latin America. Helena Albuquerque is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture at Portucalense University, Portugal, and a member of the REMIT Research Unit (Research on Economics, Management, and Information Technologies). She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering. She has supervised numerous internship reports and master’s dissertations and has served as a jury member for both master’s and doctoral theses. Her academic work includes the publication of several peer-reviewed articles focusing on territorial sustainable development and the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applied to tourism. She is actively involved in research projects across the fields of sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, research management, climate change, wine tourism, and cultural heritage. Her main research interests include: Sustainable Tourism, GIS Applications in Tourism, Nature-Based Tourism, Wine Tourism, and Territorial Sustainable Management.
