Prof. Shiao-Shing Chen is a distinguished professor in the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Management at National Taipei University of Technology. He received his master’s degree from University of Maryland, and doctoral degree from University of Central Florida, both in Environmental Program. His interest is mainly in biological and physicochemical process on water treatment by incorporation of membrane. Currently, his projects have primarily dealt with membrane, oxidation-reduction, and catalysis processes for water reclamation and power generation. He has been a visiting Professor in University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and in University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Currently, he is serving as an adjunct professor in Vellore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu, India. He has over 30 years of experience in water treatment, has authored more than 100 journal publications and obtained outstanding research award three times in his university, and also recently received Y. Z. Hsu scientific award in 2023. Dr. Kousik Das is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, SRM University-AP, Amaravati, India. Prior to this he was a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, USA. He has completed his Ph.D. from School of Environmental Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, India. His expertise is in the field of Coastal Hydrogeology. His major area of research includes surface water-groundwater interaction, submarine groundwater discharge, solute geochemistry and transport, stable isotope geochemistry (water). He also has experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence in groundwater studies. He is currently engaged in two DST funded major projects that focus on extreme hydroclimatic events and their impacts on groundwater resources of Ganga delta front; terrestrially derived groundwater pollutant discharge to the Bay of Bengal and its potential threat in changing hydroclimatic conditions along the coast of Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Saikat Sinha Ray is an accomplished assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. With over nine years of research experience, his expertise lies in advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, membrane fabrication, and desalination. Dr. Saikat's academic journey includes postdoctoral research at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea, where he served as a research assistant professor (2022–2023). Dr. Saikat has authored numerous publications in high-impact journals, reflecting his commitment to addressing global water challenges. He has also been recognized with multiple awards for his contributions to environmental sustainability, underscoring his dedication to research, teaching, and innovation.
