This book systematically reviews the theory and practice in ocean policy and legal system since the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, which is of great significance for China to speed up the construction of a maritime power and safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests. Through this book, the international community can further understand China’s specific practice and achievements in developing and improving China's ocean law system by applying the principles and systems of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This book covers seven aspects of China’s ocean policy and law, including formation and development of international ocean rules, achievements of new China in the ocean policy and legal system, measures and effects of new China in the ocean project, problems and tasks of new China in the ocean legal system, challenges of new China on ocean strategic issues, objectives and vision of China’s ocean governance in the new era, opportunities for china to maintain and expand ocean rules.
