Dr. Radmila Salic Makreska is Full Prof. at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (North Macedonia). She received her master’s degree in Earthquake Engineering and a PhD in Technical Sciences at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (North Macedonia). Her activities are mainly focused on seismic hazard and risk analysis, disaster management and strategic planning studies. She has broad scientific and professional experience in participating and leading national and international projects. Her professional activities are also part of several consultancy projects for different international organizations and institutions such as UNDP, WHO, WB, EBRD, JICA and others. She is a member of several crisis and disaster management national bodies established under the mandated governmental institutions, as well as several professional and scientific associations. At present she is general secretary of the Macedonian Association for Earthquake Engineering (MAEE). Her contributions to the field are evident through her publication record, which includes over 60 scientific papers presented at national and international conferences, more than 120 professional reports, and more than 15 publications in reputable journals. She is a member of editorial boards of several international journals. Dr. Salic Makreska is one of the authors of the current national seismic zonning maps part of NA for EC8. Recently she was elected as ExeCom member of European Facilities for Earthquake Hazard and Risk (EFEHR). She has received several awards for her scientific and professional work.   Dr. Zoran Milutinovic (1950–2023) was Full Prof. at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (North Macedonia). He was an esteemed scholar in earthquake engineering, disaster management, and strategic planning. He received his PhD from Kyoto University in Japan. He authored and co-authored over 500 scientific publications and two books and served on editorial boards of several international journals. He was a professor at IZIIS from 1992, and a visiting professor at the Universities of Kobe, Kyoto, and Belgrade. He managed the Department for Risk, Disaster Management and Strategic Planning at IZIIS until 2017, and led the European Center for the Vulnerability of Industrial and Vital Systems (ECILS) from 1997 to 2018. He managed numerous national and international projects and served as a consultant for different UN agencies and the Council of Europe. Prof. Milutinovic was the general secretary of the Macedonian Association for Earthquake Engineering (MAEE), a national delegate in European (EAEE) and World (IAEE) Associations for Earthquake Engineering, and a member of the Executive Board of the NGO Balkan Security Forum. He received the Civil Protection Cross Rank III from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and numerous awards for his scientific and professional work, particularly in post-earthquake missions, scientific assignments and strategic planning. Prof. Dr. Zoran Milutinovic is the leading author of the current national seismic zonning maps part of NA for EC8.
