Henny Warsilah is a research professor of Sociology at the Center for Society and Culture Research, National Research and Innovation Agency (PRMB BRIN). She obtained her Ph.D. from Sorbonne University, Paris, France, in 1995. Her research focuses on rural–urban development and urban disaster issues. From 2012 to 2017, she served as a director of the Management of Social Transformation (MOST) Program at UNESCO. Her recent publications include a book chapter titled "Resilience of Coastal Cities in Facing Climate Change: The Case of Benoa Bay and North Jakarta Bay Reclamation in Indonesia's Coastal Areas," published by Springer in 2020. She has also contributed a paper to the edited volume "Building Resilient Cities in Coastal Urban Areas: A Case Study of Community Adaptation and Response to Climate Change and Tidal Floods in Semarang, Indonesia," published by Elsevier in 2023. Henny Warsilah, Laely Nurhidayah, Riyanti Djalante, and Agus Suntoro contributed to the Paper Chapter "Two Decades from the Indian Ocean Tsunami" in the book Progress and Challenges in Tsunami Risk Reduction in the ASEAN Region, published by Springer in 2025. And, Henny Warsilah also wrote the paper chapter "Problems of the Socio-Ecological Crisis in Indonesia from the Perspective of Sustainable Development", Chapter paper "Socio-Ecological Crisis of Natural Resources due to the Food Estate Program in Central Kalimantan". Henny Warsilah, and Choerunisa Noor Syahid also wrote the chapter paper "Socio-Ecological Risk Reduction Based on Community in Coastal Areas: Comparative Study in Jakarta and Semarang", all in the book "Approaching Natural Resources for Sustainable Development in Indonesia", edited by Henny Warsilah Agus Heri Purnomo in the Springer Nature Series SDGs, 2025. Paulus Wirutomo is a professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology in the University of Indonesia (Retired) and Brawijaya University. He has professional expertise in urban social planning. He is head of the Indonesian Team for the International Consortium of Social Well-Being Study (led by Senshu University Tokyo-Japan. His latest publications: (2014) on “Sociological Reconceptualization of Social Development: With Empirical Evidence from Surakarta City, Indonesia, Asian Social Science Vol.10, No.11.
