Leandros (Leo) Vassilios F. Vassiliou is Consultant Oral Maxillofacial and Head & Neck Reconstructive Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, and Visiting Professor at the University of Greater Manchester, UK. His surgical practice is mainly focused on head and neck cancer ablation and reconstruction, and has outstanding outcomes in complex head and neck operations. He has received national excellence awards and prizes for his clinical and scientific achievements and is recognised for his presence in professional associations such as the European Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (EACMFS), the British Association of Head Neck Oncologists (BAHNO), and the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS). He has authored numerous guidance papers, textbooks, and articles, and is currently Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery (JCMS) and Associate Editor of the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BJOMS). Panayiotis (Panos) Kyzas is Consultant Oral Maxillofacial and Head & Neck Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Blackburn, and Visiting Professor at Edge Hill University, UK. He is a Fellow of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS), the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), and the European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS). He was the national OMFS Lead for Quality and Outcomes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (QOMS), Chair and Research Lead for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty Training Committee (OMFS STC), and the National OMFS Representative and Quality Assurance Lead for TIG H&N. He served as Clinical Director for Cancer at his NHS Trust, and holds a Bronze National Clinical Excellence Award for his services to the NHS. Currently he serves as Clinical Director of the OMFS/CMF/H&N Department at the German Medical Institute, and Editor-in-Chief for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BJOMS). Nicholas Kalavrezos is a Head & Neck Reconstructive Surgeon at the University College London Hospital, London, UK, where he is founding member of the Centre for Reconstructive Surgery. He is also the Lead Head and Neck Sarcoma Surgeon for the London Sarcoma Service. Mr Kalavrezos' clinical practice includes ablative and reconstructive surgery for the head and neck with a special interest in bone sarcomas and functional outcomes following reconstructive surgery. His research interests include applications of 'tissue engineering' in head and neck reconstruction, and he has joint research projects in the Nanotechnology Lab of UCL on 'tissue engineered bio-scaffolding' aiming to replace defects of the head and neck with tissue-engineered based micro-vascular flap reconstruction. Mr Kalavrezos is a member of the 'Face Transplant Group' based at Royal Free Hospital, and is President of the European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS).
