Dr hab. inz. Grzegorz Pasternak is an Associate Professor at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland, leading the Laboratory of Microbial Electrochemical Systems (L-MES). His research focuses on microbial fuel cells, electrofermentation, and biosensors, aiming to develop sustainable technologies for waste-to-energy conversion and environmental monitoring. In recent years, his group has been developing bioelectrochemically stimulated synthesis of biosurfactants and the degradation of waste cooking oil and petroleum. His work has been supported by approximately €1.5 million in funding, including support from NCN, NAWA, and international sources. He has contributed to the COST Action and a COST Innovation Grant focused on commercialising microbial fuel cell technology. He is an Associate Editor of Energy Nexus, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Chemical Engineering Journal: Green and Sustainable.

He holds a Master of Science by Research from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, and a Bachelor of Science in Soil, Water, and Environmental Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. His research focuses on irrigation water quality indexing, membrane technologies, and treatment processes that enhance water efficiency and inform effective policy. With extensive hands-on experience in Israel and the United States, and leadership roles in international agricultural training programs, Mr. Anyango exemplifies a blend of technical excellence, global perspective, and commitment to advancing environmental sustainability. Currently, he is looking forward to shaping the future of water management through innovation, research, and sustainable engineering solutions that promote climate resilience and improved agricultural productivity.
