Forced into exile by the collapse of my country, I traversed Southern Africa in a journey that led me from Angola to the lands of Swaziland, passing through post-war Mozambique and a South Africa in the midst of its post-apartheid transformation.
More than a simple testimony of my childhood, youth, education, and exile, this work explores the fine line between fatality and individual responsibility. Through my illusions and disillusions, I pose a fundamental question: to what extent are we the architects of our own downfall or the silent accomplices of our fate?
Having returned to my native land, I conceived this narrative not as a statement of failure, but as a true call to action. It is an invitation to reclaim the reins of our personal and collective histories—to no longer endure a "diverted destiny," but to actively shape the course of events and our ultimate destination.
