William H. Waller (Bill) is an astronomer, science educator and communicator based in Rockport, Massachusetts. His research focus is exploring the causes and consequences of starburst activity in nearby galaxies. He has worked with NASA on several space science research missions and educational outreach programs. He continues to teach and mentor students in both high-school and collegiate settings. He also hosts professional development programs in the Earth & space sciences for pre- and in-service educators. Dr. Waller is co-author of "Galaxies and the Cosmic Frontier (Harvard University Press)," as well as author of "The Milky Way -- An Insider's Guide" (Princeton University Press), "Astronomy: A Beginner's Guide" (OneWorld Publications), and his newest book, "The Solar System: An Earthling's Guide" (Cambridge Scholars Publishing).  In addition to writing scientific articles and books, Dr. Waller is the founder and producer of "Doc Waller's Earth & Space Reports," a monthly video series featuring presentations by Earth & space scientists and educators. He is also the founder and co-editor of "The Galactic Inquirer," a free online journal on diverse astronomical topics. He currently serves as a National Astronomy Education Coordinator representing the United States for the International Astronomical Union's Office of Astronomy for Education (IAU/OAE/US-NAEC). This team of volunteers spans a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds in support of advancing astronomy education within the United States and beyond.
