Teresa Morgado is Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Engineering School of Lisbon of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon, Portugal. Her research is in sustainability of materials, structural integrity, manufacturing processes, maintenance management, industry 4.0, and industry 5.0. She has also organized dozens of international and national conferences, specials sessions, and journal special issues. She was Chair of the 5th International Conference on Quality Innovation and Sustainability (ICQIS 2024).

Before transitioning to the academic world, Dr. Abreu had a successful career in the manufacturing industry, holding management positions. He has published over 150 publications in books, journals, and conference proceedings in areas such as logistics, project management, quality management, open innovation, risk management, and lean management.
