In 1901 a young frontiersman named Peter Force comes to New York City and finds a job digging the first subway tunnels. Into his path falls the beautiful mathematical prodigy Cheri-Anne Toledo, whose memories appear to come from another world: the long-forgotten Kingdom of Ohio.
