Dietz is professor in Information Systems Design at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) since 1994, after having been professor in MIS at the University of Maastricht for 6 years. He holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science, and has practitioned business automation for 10 years. He has published over 200 scientific and professional articles as well as several books. His current research interests are in Enterprise Engineering, Enterprise Architectures and Enterprise & Information Systems Ontology.
