Ece Eden, DDS, MSc, PhD, is Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. Dr. Eden studied at Ege University and was appointed Associate Professor there in 2000 and Professor in 2006. She has also lectured at Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands through the Erasmus Staff Mobility Programme. Dr. Eden’s research interests include preventive dentistry, minimal intervention dentistry, and dental trauma. She served as a member of the Turkish Dental Association’s Public Dental Health Commission during 2000–2002 and 2008–2010 and is current head of the Public Dental Health Commission of Izmir Dentistry Chamber. Dr. Eden has been an invited speaker at congresses in Egypt, China, South Korea, the Philippines, and India and has delivered more than 50 presentations at national and international meetings. She is the author of 38 articles in English and 30 articles in Turkish and recently translated the book Traumatic Dental Injuries – A Manual, 3rd edn (Andreasen JO et al, eds; Vestiyer Yayin Grubu, Istanbul).
