Ekkehard Brose was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford before joining the German Foreign Service in 1984. Moscow at the time of Gorbachev and, 17 years later, Putin, Washington D.C. and NATO Headquarters in Brussels were important stages in his career. He served as German Ambassador to Iraq from 2014 - 2016 and as President of the Federal Academy of Security Policy in Berlin until 2023.
