Gerd Klatte studied in Hamburg and Marseille. He holds a doctorate in physical chemistry and has focused his research on nanoparticles. Since his first visit as a child to the planetarium in his hometown of Hamburg, he has been fascinated by the vastness of the universe and science fiction novels.
The first ideas for 'Tenebra - World under a shadow' - came to him while gazing at the night sky in the Regional Natural Park of Millevaches in the Limousin region and while watching the Leonid meteor shower with his children. He plans to pursue a second degree in astronomy.
He lives with his wife in Lower Saxony.
