Kate Hennig is a playwright, actor, teacher, and director. Her plays The Last Wife, The Virgin Trial, and Mother's Daughter premiered at the Stratford Festival and transferred to Soulpepper Theatre, Toronto. The Last Wife has had more than twenty productions across Canada, the United States, and as far away as Sydney, Australia. It has been translated into French by Maryse Warda. The Virgin Trial won the 2017 Carol Bolt Award for Best New Play, and was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama. Kate translated and adapted Cyrano de Bergerac, which ran at the Shaw Festival in both 2019 and 2022. Kate lives and writes in Stratford, Ontario.
