Lauren Carter is the author of six books, including the novel This Has Nothing to Do with You, winner of the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction in 2020, and the short story collection Places Like These, a 2023 INDIES Book of the Year Awards Finalist. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph and offers supportive writing instruction in unique locations through her business Wild Ground Writing Retreats. She lives north of Winnipeg, in a riverside home on Treaty One territory, in the heart of the homeland of the Red River Métis.
