Suleyman I. Allakhverdiev is the Head of Controlled Photobiosynthesis Laboratory at the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Moscow. He obtained both his B.S. and M.S., in Physics from the Department of Physics, Azerbaijan State University, Baku. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics (Biophysics), from the Institute of Biophysics, USSR.
