Trudi (White) Johnson, Ph.D., grew up in St. John’s, though her family roots are in Greenspond, Bonavista Bay. She graduated from Memorial University and taught for ten years in the K-12 school system in White Bay and Labrador City. In the 1990s, she completed a doctoral degree in Newfoundland history, specializing in matrimonial law and inheritance practices. Currently, she is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University in St. John's.
